Incanvil is a creative writing workspace that lets you plan worlds, characters, stories, locations, and items. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and the rights you have over your information. By using Incanvil, you agree to the practices described below.
Information We Collect
- Account information: your email address, username, profile photo, and avatar frame.
- User-generated content: worlds, characters, stories, locations, items, organizations, and family trees you create.
- Community data: published works, upvotes, co-author collaborations, and saved boards.
- Usage data: language preference, theme settings, and feature interactions used to improve the app.
How We Use Your Information
- To provide and maintain the Incanvil creative workspace and its features.
- To display your published works in the community with your chosen username and avatar.
- To compute rankings, award weekly badges, and manage community challenges.
- To send in-app notifications about collaboration requests, milestones, and challenge results.
- To enforce community guidelines and moderate reported content via AI-assisted review.
Offline Storage & Local Caching
- Incanvil is designed to work offline. Your worlds, characters, stories, locations, items, and their photos are stored locally on your device (browser storage) so you can keep creating without a connection.
- When you are online, your changes and any photos you upload are synced to the cloud. Uploaded photos are also cached on your device so they display even when you are offline.
- In Host Mode (no account), all data stays only on your device until you create an account and sync to the cloud.
Data Sharing & Visibility
- Your published works are visible to all registered users in the Community hub.
- Your username and avatar appear alongside your published works and in rankings.
- Co-authorship is voluntary — you choose whether to accept or decline collaboration requests.
- We do not sell your data to third parties. We do not share your email address publicly.
Third-Party Services
- Google OAuth and Apple Sign-In for optional social authentication.
- Base44 backend infrastructure for data storage, authentication, and cloud functions.
- AI language models for on-demand translation and automated content moderation.
- Email delivery for account notifications, support requests, and moderation notices.
Your Rights
- Edit your profile, username, photo, and frame at any time from the Profile menu.
- Unpublish or delete your works from the community whenever you choose.
- Delete your entire account and associated data from Settings → Delete Account.
- Request a copy of your data or ask questions by contacting our support team.
Account Bans
- Accounts that violate our community guidelines — including prohibited content (nudity, violence, abuse, illegal links) or repeated policy violations — may be permanently banned by administrators.
- Banned users receive an email explaining the reason for the ban.
- A banned email address cannot be used to register a new account.
- If you believe a ban was issued in error, you may appeal by contacting support.
Children's Privacy
Incanvil is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes take effect when posted in the app. Continued use of Incanvil after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
